strings in structs
I have a problem with strings in structs that I'm having a hard time finding a solution for, so I searched for a C++ forum and ended up here. I hope that you guys can provide me with a solution, I'm learning at the moment so my knowledge with C++ is limited.
Let me get straight to the problem;
When I have a string in a structure and try to print it with cout I get a bunch of errors.
Here's an example:
Code:
#include <iostream>
int main()
{
struct familyMember
{
int nAge;
string strName;
};
familyMember sMemberOne;
sMemberOne.nAge = 21;
sMemberOne.strName = "Charles";
cout << "The first member is named " << sMemberOne.strName; //This is the line that the compiler complains about.
return 0;
}
If anyone is interested, this is the output I get from my compiler:
Code:

Re: strings in structs
Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
// rest of code...
}
Before post, make an effort yourself, try googling or search here.

Re: strings in structs
I feel very stupid right now, how could I forget that?
Thanks for the fast replies, I can move on with my project now.
