    Post This is my story

I have a very bad OCD, and because i love computers so much i am on it for at least 10-12 hours a day as i am only 15 years of age, if i try to stop OCD kicks in and i have the urge to reverse something or program something(This is all i ever do on computers ) , is there any possible way i can cut the amount of time down!!!

Learn something else besides computers. Obviously computers will be there when you get back Also computers aren't that interesting....

Reverse engineering is just another way to say you don't know what is happening.... Once you learn what is happening, it really isn't that fun..

If you really want to learn computers, at least don't waste your time reverse engineering..... and learn the proper way.

Last time I checked, ocd isn't curable even if you do abide by your ocd. So do what you want. If you ocd only bothers you when you get off your computer.. consider yourself lucky and walk away

    the proper way is to:
    1. read documents
    2. read examples
    3. read tutorials
    4. read references and so forth.
    5. study what you need and not what you want
    6. realize computers aren't for "cool" people

    the improper way is to:
    1. assume you can learn by studying nothing
    2. assume you can do it
    3. assume you're aren't wasting time playing
    4. assume you deserve help
    5. assume everything is cool
    6. trying to hack things that you like....

I suppose that should cover the simple things....

    So take your pick

Even if you did learn all of those things... you won't be making any "profit" off of it unless you have YEARS of experience and are vastly knowledgeable.

Studying opengl and directx isn't going to do you any good without advance math... unless you use something already built.

There are a lot of other things going under the hood that involves design than actual code. Consider the hardware...

I suggest you not worry about computers unless you are very serious. Go outside and play while you can.

What are you trying to get out of computers?

    Re: This is my story

I remember when teachers told me to "pick" something you like to do for a living... well I am telling you teachers don't make much and aren't always right....

Even if you do like to program, it may not be the best choice for a career. It might even make you hate programming if you went to school for it or had to program for someone else

The choice is yours, but I am here to tell you most people make bad choices, so pick wisely......
