Lagyy network
My network becomes laggy these days,
it used to be fast and no problem when I played online games.
Now when playing online games, it lags and I die, so I lose my money,
Online gaming is a money making industry, I buy cards by real cash for some secret number series that I can change into "game's money" to decorate my game characters (hats, clothes, weapons etc). They also have incentive programs to upgrade my character into a more powerful one by random choice of a correct image. Never been able to pick up the right image, , only ugly decorative trash. I lose my money of course. Now this laggy network just saddens me more. Really angry!
Should I call my ISP for current problems ? I guess I should wait for some day before doing so.
I pay the bill pretty late as always. Should they treat thier customer this way ? I don't want to think so.

Re: Lagyy network
You should first check your connection speed (google for an online engine)
What game is it ? I like games too.

Re: Lagyy network
www.speedtest.net should be your first stop. Monitor that a little bit. If it's normal (never exactly what your package says), then contact your ISP.

Re: Lagyy network
Thank you, my Ping is 33ms, Down=0.58 Mbps, Up=0.55Mbps
This is too far different from what has been contracted (should have been 1.5 Mbps for DOWN).
I will test it again 10 - 12 hours later before calling them. What a cheat, isn't it !?! But sure they pick the wrong customer to play with!

Re: Lagyy network
As I already stated, your actual down/uplink is never what your package states. While yours seems rather much, it may actually not be.
Many things can cause this difference. The primary is location from their servers. What is your ISP? Where (roughly) are you located? Is it more rural or urban?

Re: Lagyy network
I have had some issues with my ISPs. I had DSL for years and got a consistant 3+ mbps then started noticing serious lag while online. I checked the speed and it was running .75 mbps - 1.2 mbps up speed was the same as ever before running around .78 mbps. The phone company was not very helpful.
I switched to 10 mbps Cable and for a while was getting 10-12 mbps but then last fall it too dropped to where I was only getting 1-3 mbps during prime time. The cable company told me this would be corrected soon citing a bandwidth problem due to many new customers and the old analog signals still being pushed across the cable. Even then I was getting the full 10 mbps except during the hours 6-10 pm est Now I seem to get full speed anytime of day so all is good.
If you have a good connection you up speed will normally be just a bit higher than your package states. If you are seeing 1/3 what the package states then it is time to call the provider or find another one.
