    BIOS NUMBER

I know that each network controller has a unique ID number programmed in to it that is used to generate GUID numbers. Does anyone know how to obtain the network controller ID number through
software? or better yet, a unique number that identifies a computer even if it doesn't have a network controller?

Thanks in advance for any help.
    Victor
