    programming a compiler/assembler

    How do you program a compiler/assembler? I know a lot of assembly language, but somehow it hasn't clicked on how to make my own assembler...

    For designing a Compiler we require application of Automata theory. and You need to use a Symbol Table that converts from opcodes to nemonics.

    I know I need to convert mnemonics to opcodes, but I need to be shown how because I'm slow like that...
