    monitoring open file

    hi there
    does anyone know how can i log the activity of the file system?
    i need to know when a file opens and store the name in a database
    thank in advance for your help

    The Windows Shell API provides a notification mechanism through the SHChangeNotify() function. There is a technique descrived in the book Visual C++ Windows Shell Programming that talks about this. Look for the section called Towards a File System Monotoring Utility.
