Deep trouble : data recovery

Hello guys,

Apparently there is a new computer virus around and I got it. As a result, the IT guy here ran BPS Spyware Remover which apparently also selected pretty innocent data files, and one way or another I must have accidentally deleted them. Is there any reasonably priced program available for recovery of deleted files as the information must still be on the disk somewhere. Please help.

I've never actually used it Simon but I think that Symantec makes a product called Norton Unerase. Look on the Symantec web site.

what you gotta do is make sure your data knows that its not a crime to be a runaway. A lot of the time people come to the police and say my son or data is missing, and we can't really do anything for the first 48 hours anyway. Unless your son or data is a minor in which case we can dispatch an urgent job over the radio. Its a good idea to have a recent photo handy and write down what cloths he/she was last wearing.

But dont worry, 9 times out of 10 they come home after a day or two..

I'm using a freeware program called restoration.exe. I've managed to get a number of files back and the others I can regenerate, I have the parameters to do a new simulation.

Usually unerase software works best if you erase data with the software already installed.

I like OnTrack EasyRecovery. I don't know if its in your price range, but it has always worked well for me.
