Big Endian / Little Endian

My Java program needs to read a binary file created by a non-Java program. The file contains integers, floats and doubles. What is the
simplest way of doing this? Currently, I am using a very un-elegant way - I read the file as an array of bytes, swap them, write the array
back to a temporary file and then read the temporary file again.

Uh... okay.
Like... Totally.
Like, you need to know, like, the order the, like, floats and the, uh, doubles and the, uh, integers are written to the, you know, file and then, like, totally read it like that through the, like, datainputstream thingy.

It's like when you're totally buzzin' and you go up to the hotdog stand and all your buds are gettin' the munchies and, like, you've been delegated the job, like, to get some munchies and you go to the stand and ask for like a hotdog for Mitch, who's like a total waster. Then you ask for a cheeseburger for Jim, 'cuz he's been smokin' since he was three. Then you ask for a pretzel for yourself 'cuz like you don't have the munchies too bad. Then the guy gives you the pretzel first and you're like totally bummin' cuz he's, like, totally confusing you. So you tell him to give you what you asked for in the order you asked for cuz you can't deal with mixing up the order and he tells you to like go 'F' yourself and like your head's like throbbing cuz you've been smokin' alot and can't deal with the issues at hand and like you go back to your buds and tell them that the hotdog stand was closed.
