Threaded view: how to "feed" it the right way
Just a few days ago I found the threaded display mode here on the forum. It appears to be a nice feature that I have missed on every inet forum since the ancient days of CompuServe.
But as it took myself almost a month to find it, and I'm still not quite clear about how to post correctly in order not to mess up the threaded view, I ask myself: Are enough users in here doing their posts correctly so that threaded (and hybrid) view are of a real practical use?
To make at least me (and hopefully many other users who read this) able to do my posts the right way: Can anyone explain the subtle differences of the various flavours of "reply" buttons to me? I have seen at least "Quote", "Multi-Quote" and "Quick Reply" buttons attached to every single post and two "Post a reply" buttons at the beginning and the end, respectively, of the (linear) thread view.
TIA

So your main problem is many threads around do not "feed" you properly,
Since CG has so many guests to view during the day, complaints to making the site more perfect might won't be considered better than insightful insults by the juries of high common sense
Contribution to the site I believe is appreciated, we suck mud to grow, we collect potato chips to make our dreams come really true

No, I'm completely satisfied with how CG, the many threads and the people who write them "feed" me.
My question should be understood in a way that I myself am not quite sure about how I, myself, should "feed" the forum engine in a way that makes threaded view and hybrid view work as desired.
And I was interested in some kind of statistics about how many of the users "feed" the engine the way that I intend to do it, if someone should happen to know statistical values about that. Even a qualified guess would fairly satisfy me in this point.
Any more thoughts anyone?
