    Re: Change Password - Broken?

I have the same problem: I cannot change my password since September 2009 (I try it about once a month and every time - without success).
I already tried to do it in my CP and also using the provided link ( http://www.codeguru.com/profile.php ) - the result is the same.
The last attempt was today... After struggling about an hour I could restore my "old" password (and only after 3-rd or 4th attempt)

    Joe and Brad!
How could we solve this problem?

How about if we all use the same password?

Wow Arjay! It's a good idea!
Let's all use the password that Brad set for everyone who forget his own one or has some troubles like I had!

Once a month, for security reasons, we can change the password (and just email the new one to everybody).

Well, when I go to User CP -> Edit profile -> button "Edit e-mail & Password" , enter my "present" password, enter a new one and the same as "confirm ..."
then after pressing "save changes" I get:

Seriously though, what happens when you try to reset your password? Does the e-mail fail to arrive? In most cases we have found that if the e-mail doesn't arrive, the e-mail provider is screening it out. Many e-mail providers screen out what they considered to be junk mail long before it would ever get to the end user, and therefore does not turn up in the spam folder

No, I never received any e-mail after trying to change a password. (Our firm uses Google Gmail)
And again, what I did and what I then get:

How are you reaching that first screen? The page you should've been taken to is this

    http://www.codeguru.com/profile.php

I'm not sure how you got to the other one but I would appreciate knowing so I could fix it. It should not be acceptable from any link.

    What I did is:
    1. click "User CP" toolbar button
    2. click on the Edit Your Details link
    3. press "Edit Email & Password" button
    4. and finally - got this "Edit Email & Password" page

I see. There is a direct link right below that for e-mail and password. I'll have to find and change that button

    Re: Change Password - Broken?

Well, after struggling almost the whole day and requesting two new passwords I finally appear to change my password.
And I have it so understood (see http://www.codeguru.com/forum/announcement.php?f=7 ) that there was a problem in User database...

Hope the problem has been really fixed!
    Thank you!
